I took part in the UN-PARADE riding down Shell Beach Road. The old Pismo Fire Department fire engine, Police, walkers, bike riders and more joined together going down Shell Beach Road.

I leisurely biked to the end of the Avila Beach third pier and then back to my truck parked at the Bob Jones Pathway parking lot. It was EXTREMELY WINDY. A woman had left her purse in her car visible from the outside. Someone broke her glass and stole the purse. I see a sheriff a lot just sitting in the parking lot so I assume this is getting to be more common.

I spent 1 1/2 hours riding my bike in downtown San Luis Obispo after the downtown Farmer's Market. The ride begins at 9:30 PM. I estimated 400+ riders in attendance. The temperatuire was a cool 51 degrees!!!

I leisurely biked to the end of the Avila Beach third pier and then back to my truck parked at the Bob Jones Pathway parking lot. Joe Mamma's coffee shop has now closed in it's present location. Afterwards I went to Starbucks in Pismo Beach and had a "hot non-cut egg nog latte."

My biking buddy Cary and I rode from Shell Beach, to downtown Pismo Beach, through the North Pismo Beach Campgrounds, to the Amtrak train station, up 3rd Street in Grover Beach, down 4th Street to the Pismo Beach Starbucks. I had a couple of cups of coffee and proceeded back to Pismo Beach, passing the Outlet Center via the pathway along the freeway. We then rode back to Shell Beach. After leaving Cary I rode all around Shell Beach for some more exercise. This was a different type of bike riding for me. I didn't particularly like riding with the Friday afternoon traffic. Going down 4th Street was quite the thrill. This was probably the fastest I have been on my bike. This was definitely a change of pace for my bike riding experience and very enjoyable.

I leisurely biked to the end of the Avila Beach third pier, had coffee at Joe Mamma's coffee shop, went over to the Avila Valley Barn where there were pumpkins everywhere and then went to Avila Hot Springs to see who was on duty.

I drove my truck back to Avila Beach to ride some waves in 61 degree ocean water with only a bathing suit on.

A flash from the past... This is when it actually rained on the Central Coast.

The trees and bushes needed to be trimmed on the bridge before the entrance of the Bob Jones Pathway. You see the blinking yellow light at the last moment. The County of SLO has been notified of this dangerous situation. The County moved very fast and trimmed the trees and bushes to make it safe to cross the road.

I do not record every bike ride I make. I am always going to Avila as a quick and simple bike ride. Today I rode about 10 miles all the way to the end of the third pier in Avila. The San Luis creek does not flow much due to the lack of water in our current drought situation.  This leads to some very interesting algae growth on the surface of the water. I always have a cup of coffee at Joe Mamma's on the way back. Luke always makes a "perfect cappuccino." The barista's are always friendly at Joe Mamma's.

I spent 1 1/2 hours riding my bike in downtown San Luis Obispo after the downtown Farmer's Market. The ride begins at 9:30 PM. I estimated over 300 riders in attendance. It's getting busier since a lot of Cal Poly students have arrived early in SLO.

The SLO Police were out in force giving tickets mostly for riders not having a light on their bike. The ticket costs $30. The police will also give you a an extremely small bike light which must have cost them 50 cents or less after they write you the ticket. The police are enforcing  all the other rules of the road as relates to bicycles.

I spent over an hour of fun bike riding around downtown San Luis Obispo at night. This ride begins at 9:30 PM after the downtown Farmer's Market has closed. I estimated over 200 riders in attendance.

I began riding my new bike on June 24, 2016. I rode continuously everyday for just over one month. On occasion I would ride two times a day. I rode first short distances around Shell Beach and Avila Beach to get accustomed to the bike and my abilities. Then it was a daily bike ride to Avila Beach on the Bob Jones Pathway and sometimes to the end of the third pier at Port San Luis.
